This debt deters many of us from seeking needed medical care, which can result in missed days at work and higher medical bills in the future from unchecked health problems. Medical debt also undermines the overall financial security of our families, reducing our ability to meet basic needs and reach our dreams.

Project Warm Helps Lower Heating Bills
| Nobody knows how much home heating costs will go up this year, says Frank Schwartz, of Louisville’s Project Warm. But those costs may set records. Project Warm holds workshops to teach people how to reduce heating bills. They also train volunteers to help disabled and elderly people weatherize their homes. To reduce the amount of money you spend on heat this winter, Mr. Schwartz suggests:
