Habitat for Humanity

Ronald Johnson received help from UPS volunteers and Habitat for Humanity to repair and restore his Smoketown home.

Making Connections member Ronald Johnson was raised in the house on Campbell Street that he’s owned since he bought it from his mother 40 years ago.

The big camelback has seen better days. It was overgrown with weeds, the siding needed replacing in front, the gutters need replacing, a chain link fenced needed replacing and some areas needed paint.

But it’s nothing a team of UPS volunteers couldn’t handle, and they all became part of Habitat for Humanity’s pilot project that helps home owners in Smoketown spruce up the outside of their homes, which keeps its value high, and keeps neighbors happy.
